Sweden Defensive
Sweden Defensive is designed specifically for defensive strategies, featuring a 5-ply construction with a slightly larger head size, enhancing stability and control during play.
Details
The softer outer veneers provide a superior feel, allowing players to execute precise chops and blocks with ease. This design is particularly effective when paired with long pips or thin sponge rubbers, catering to spin-oriented defensive maneuvers.
While its primary focus is on defense, the Sweden Defensive blade maintains sufficient power to support offensive play when opportunities arise, especially in close-to-the-table scenarios. Players have praised its reliability and consistency in executing defensive shots like chops and pushes. However, some have noted that the handle is slightly shorter than typical blades, which may require adjustment for those accustomed to standard handle lengths.
Pairing this blade with rubbers such as Elfrark RF can enhance its chopping capabilities, while a controlled offensive rubber like Rakza 7 on the forehand can provide the necessary speed and spin for counter-attacks.

Overall rating
The Yasaka Sweden Defense is simply fantastic for players who focus on defense but don’t want to give up the ability to attack. It may not have raw speed, but when you go for a proper, committed attack, the ball still comes out surprisingly fast. The real highlight here is the control, it’s hard to miss the table with this blade. Before, I used to land about 70 out of 100 shots; after switching to this blade, I’m now at 87 and that’s without changing my technique, just by changing the blade.
When it comes to refining technique, in my opinion, it’s wonderful. The only downside is that drives don’t have as much raw power (I’d rate it 7.8/10), but honestly, that can be a good thing: it forces you to develop stronger and cleaner strokes. After some time, your body naturally makes more powerful movements anyway and when you change to a even better Blade with more speed… BOOOOOOM!!! No one can catch your atacks.
My personal ratings for the Yasaka Sweden Defense:
Defense: 10/10 – perfect for a defensive style.
Attack: 8/10 – lacks some speed, but the control more than makes up for it.
Spin moviments control(its not the Spin, bc blades cant generate spin, only rubber, but the moviment itself) 9.5/10 – excellent for topspins and spinny drives away from the table.
Durability/Resilience: 10/10 – extremely tough. I’m clumsy and have thrown my racket over 20 meters, smashed it hard on the edge of the table, and despite heavy wear from my habit of sanding the base of the racket to use it more comfortably with my big hands (which reduce the lifespan), it’s still going strong. I’ve used it for 3 years already and hope it lasts at least 5 more to get some money and buy a even better one.
Final score: 9.25/10 – A wonderful blade for mastering defensive play that still won’t let you down when it’s time to attack.
For only 600.60 Swedish Krona or 62,76 American Dolars is a amazing deal, recomend!
